3 Things You Can Do

Hello Team,

We’ve been busy coordinating the response to Coronavirus with our refugee leaders in Chad, Cameroon, Tanzania, and Greece. That first set of documents has been digitally distributed to all of them — and they are sharing it wide, digitally and hard copies. This google folder of documents in multiple languages has also been picked up by NGO’s and added to “tool boxes” that are being distributed widely.

We’re now in the process of moving into the next level of action. Here are 3 ways you can help us:

1. Post your #iactunited greeting on social media. You can use this message (or a version of it) with your post:

We are united now more than ever with refugees. Refugees and others affected by conflict and displacement face especially difficult challenges during a global crisis like the present one. They also have the experience, strengths, and talents that make them uniquely qualified to not only lead efforts to protect their families and communities but also to support a united global front against the Coronavirus pandemic. Show your support for refugees by sending your #iactunited greeting – (hand on your heart) with the hashtags #iactunited #refugeesunited #inthistogether. Visit http://iact.ngo for more on how the Coronavirus is affecting refugees and on how you can support them.

We will collect all these pictures and messages and share them with our refugee friends. They are VERY APPRECIATIVE of this connection — knowing that people care and are united with them.

2. Support our #iactunited fundraising activities.

We will be using 100% of the funds collected through this campaign to support our refugee leaders responses to the COVID-19 crisis. We will be transferring funds for immediate needs, including:

  • Soap

  • Water containers and materials

  • Phone credit

  • Copies of fact sheets

3. Stay safe and healthy.

Let us know if we can help with anything during these challenging times. I strongly encourage you to visit insightLA’s website. They are offering wonderful online mindfulness activities and invite you to participate by saying, “We can’t go out, so let’s go in!”

Let us know if you have any thoughts, ideas, and questions.

Much love and peace,

Gabriel
