All weekend long, wellness and beauty providers—hairdressers, estheticians, massage therapists, chiropractors, yoga teachers, etc.—will provide their services for donations towards iACT. All donations this year will help reach the remaining $2,528 needed to fill the food gap for Darfuri refugees.
Are you a wellness facilitator or practitioner (located anywhere in the world!)? You can get involved!
Be part of Pamper for a Purpose by donating your fees this coming weekend.
Contact me, Katie-Jay, and I can help you facilitate a Pamper for a Purpose event in your local area in the near future.
Join the Pamper for a Purpose Network by liking the Facebook page. We will set up a call in August to prepare for the 2019 event.
Pamper for a Purpose started in 2011 by a Portland hairstylist, Denise Wetherell, who was passionate about the conflict in Darfur and wanted to find a way to get involved. Denise created a successful fundraising and awareness event that involved her surrounding beauty community and local organizations.
Denise now designates two days out of the year to donate all of her earnings to a good cause. Pamper for a Purpose 2018 will be this weekend, July 13 & 14!
Last year, Denise donated her Pamper for a Purpose funds to iACT and was able to raise $1,623 for Little Ripples, iACT’s early childhood development program! This year, funds will support the Little Ripples daily meal program at a time when food rations are being cut to $5 per person per month.
Denise, Never Again Coalition, and iACT are taking Pamper for a Purpose to the next level by expanding the network and offering practitioners everywhere an opportunity to be part of pampering for a good cause. Next year, we have big plans to create a nation-wide weekend of Pampering for a Purpose.
Stay tuned!
